Have you ever wondered what the difference is in drug store skin care products versus professional skin care offered from your esthetician or doctor?

There's quite a few differences between drug store skin care and professional skin care. Read on to learn three major differences:

1.) Skin care sold at a drug store (or department store/cosmetic store) typically has less active ingredients. This can be good for sensitive skin types or young skin, but not beneficial for people who want to see real changes in their skin, highly reactive skin types or thick, sun-damaged skin types.

2.)  Drug store/department store skin care is often less cosmetically elegant in its formulation. This happens when companies spend more money on packaging, promotion and marketing then they spend on science and chemistry to develop advanced ways of getting beneficial ingredients into the skin.

3.) At drug stores there is typically no one to talk to about your individual skin. At department stores and cosmetic stores there may or may not be someone to talk to about your skin, but their training may be lacking.

When you visit your esthetician, you not only get an in-depth consultation about your skin needs, you also get the benefit of someone actually feeling your skin as part of the very important skin analysis needed for the very best product recommendations!
